Operators

Anything you type is passed through to the engines, so their usual operators work: "exact phrase", site:example.com, -excluded, filetype:pdf.

Bangs

Start or end a query with a bang to jump straight to another site: !w berlin for Wikipedia, !gh dysto for GitHub, !yt …, !so …, !mdn …. The bang table lives on this server, so the redirect is decided locally.

Verticals

The tabs switch between web, images and videos while keeping your query, engine and language. Image and video thumbnails are fetched by this server and relayed, so browsing them opens no connection from your browser to a third party.

Preferences

Theme, interface language, result language and engine are stored in one first-party cookie on your device. The bin icon erases it.

Add to your browser

Most browsers offer to add DystO as a search engine after your first visit, via the OpenSearch descriptor at /opensearch.xml.
